UK Independent Auditors – Pensions Regulator

UK Independent Auditors are not obliged to tell pension scheme trustees about intricate details regarding their schemes. Savers are ultimately responsible for checking and reviewing their own statements and making sure that things are as they expect.

It is essential that both auditors and trustees work together to review and understand the sensitive and important data that such reports provide.

A recent survey found that many trustees do not know the full facts surrounding the forms which may have been filled in by employers when their scheme was set up. These can include insurance policies, health care and other charges which may not have been brought up at the outset.

It is essential that UK independent auditors help clients as much as possible in the initial stages to have a grasp of what their exact scheme involves but also it is an important requirement of scheme holders to not rely solely on auditors to point out every last detail.
