I have bought a new vehicle and use it for picking kids up, grocery shopping, general travelling around etc but I also use it for transporting supplies for the bar I run so it is partly business use. I don't know if I can claim some of the running costs back on my next tax return - can you help?

Hi Charley.
You can claim some tax relief on this vehicle as you use it for business purposes. As you also use it for private travel also though, you will not be enititled to all the capital allowances. It can be put through in a tax return with a "private usage" factor to reflect that the vehicle also gets used for non business purposes.

ok. I see. I don't have a clue about this sort of stuff so I can't thank you enough for your help. Really simple and to the point and now I know far more about capital allowances than I did so thanks. hopefully catch up with you soon x
